This was done as cover art for the upcoming novel "A Murder in Marienburg", written by David Bishop and published by Black Library, the science fiction /fantasy publishing arm of Games Workshop. The book is due out this summer.
The assignment: do an homage to Rembrandt's "Abraham and Isaac" set in the medieval world of Warhammer, with the sublime angel replaced by a murderous giant ninja rat. Could it get any better than that? This image copyright 2007 Games Workshop.
